A Tennis Tradition in the Indian Wells Valley
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 30th Annual Gary Haugen Memorial Tennis Tournament. Gary was a young local tennis player who died of leukemia in
the prime of his life. In 1976 the China Lake Tennis Club renamed their fall
tournament in Gary’s honor. This tournament is put on annually by the China
Lake Tennis Club to raise funds to
support scholarships in Gary's name, for local high school tennis players. The
annual Haugen Scholarships are given to those students who reflect Gary’s dedication to
tennis, scholarship, sportsmanship and community service. We hope that you will
be able to join us in this worthwhile event.
